Replace uncertainty with confidence, overwhelm with possibility, and outdated pain models with contemporary understanding.

You Already Help People Living with Pain

Imagine how much more confidently you could help them if you fully understood why your work works.

For years, pain was explained as a signal coming from damaged tissues. Find the damaged structure. Treat the structure. Pain goes away.

But research has shown us something very different.

Pain is influenced by:

  • the nervous system
  • the immune system
  • expectations
  • beliefs
  • previous experiences
  • attention
  • context
  • meaning
  • and the body's ongoing evaluation of safety and danger.

For movement and manual therapists, this changes everything.

Because our work isn't simply changing tissues.

We're creating experiences that help people discover new possibilities.

The more we understand contemporary pain science, the more clearly we can explain our work, engage our clients, and create the conditions where meaningful change can occur.

Research Has Changed. Has Your Understanding Changed?

According to: NOI Group, Explain Pain Second Edition; Moseley & Butler, Fifteen Years of Explaining Pain; International Association for the Study of Pain, What Is Pain?

Clients today are asking better questions. Many have already searched Google. Some have seen specialists. Others have been told frightening stories about their bodies that leave them feeling broken or afraid to move.

As a practitioner, you're in a unique position.

Not because you have all the answers. but because you can offer something many people rarely experience:

  • A calm presence
  • Hope grounded in science
  • Movement that creates curiosity instead of fear
  • And conversations that open possibilities instead of reinforcing limitations.

Understanding contemporary pain science doesn't replace the art of your work. It strengthens it.

Pain is complex. Your work can still be clear, grounded, and deeply hopeful.

My Own Journey

As a physical therapist and Trager® practitioner, I've spent decades asking one question:

Why does this work?

Early in my career I knew my clients were changing. I could feel it beneath my hands. I could see it in the way they moved. But the explanations I had been taught didn't fully match what I was experiencing.

Over the years I immersed myself in the emerging science of pain, neuroscience, learning, biotensegrity, and more. Little by little, the puzzle pieces began fitting together.

I discovered that

  • pain isn't simply a message from injured tissues
  • movement can become safety learning
  • my words can either expand possibilities or reinforce fear
  • touch becomes information
  • curiosity changes biology
  • and that presence may be one of the most therapeutic things I offer.

These discoveries didn't change the heart of my work. They helped me understand it, and speak with clients more clearly, accurately, and compassionately.

Today, through Tragerology, I help practitioners bridge the gap between contemporary science and embodied practice, without losing the essence of what makes this work so profound.

Does Any of This Sound Familiar?

You know your work helps people living with pain. But sometimes you wonder...

  • How do I explain why this works?
  • Why do some clients improve while others remain stuck?
  • Am I accidentally reinforcing fear with the language I use?
  • How do I stay current when pain science keeps evolving?
  • How do I help clients become partners in their own recovery rather than expecting me to fix them?

If you've asked yourself any of these questions you're not alone. They’re the very questions that inspired me to keep learning, keep questioning, and keep translating the research into practical language for somatic practitioners.

Imagine Becoming the Practitioner...

... who confidently answers clients' questions about pain without relying on outdated explanations.

... who helps clients leave each session feeling less fearful and more hopeful.

... who understands why touch, movement, novelty, and presence influence recovery.

... who communicates with language that builds trust rather than uncertainty.

... who enjoys working with people in pain because you understand the processes that support change.

That's exactly who this bundle is designed to help you become.
